Nadira Hussain begins Enfield Director of IT role
Former Tower Hamlets head of ICT took up new role this week, reporting to director of finance James Rolfe
Nadira Hussain has taken on the role of head of IT, ICT and Transformation at Enfield Council.
Hussain began her new role this week, having previously been head of ICT for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
The transformation agenda at Enfield is being led by James Rolfe, the Executive Director of Finance, Resources & Customer Services for the council.
Enfield says the transformation has been wide reaching and has delivered "some significant improvement to the ways of working and wholesale changes to the environment through the adoption of innovative and digital technology and tools." The council said it "continues to embed and exploit these transformative resources to realise greater benefits for both the staff, customers and the residents they serve." Rocco Labellarte, who was Assistant Director of ICT on an interim basis, is due to return to Enfield next week as an Assistant Director of ICT, working under Rolfe
Enfield, meanwhile, is understood to be continuing development of its Amelia “virtual agent” technology. Amelia, an artificial intelligence (AI) platform from IPsoft, has been described as understanding “context, applies logic, learns, resolves problems and even senses emotions.”
Last year, it was reported that Amelia would be put to work within the council later in 2016, with services due to be in operation from the autumn. However, Enfield itself has been more cautious in detailing when, where and how any Amelia-like platform will eventually be used.
